Brain Plasticity: silly putty or super ball

rug: it would probably be appropriate to say that the info about H. Ford might possibly have come from AARP,

raz:  you mean you're an old geezer?

rug:  No, my father is an old...., is elderly compared to you,

raz:  what, so now I'm the youngster, wet behind the ears, drippy snoz,

rug:  that's enough, we get the idea.  We are all ageless in our own minds,

raz:  what if you have Alzheimer's, can you tell what's in your mind?

rug:  you are referring to Senile dementia - Alzheimer's type (SDAT).  that's a good question, does anybody know?

raz:  you mean you don't know, or pretend to know?  I thought you knew every...

rug:  I know some stuff, you know some stuff, everybody forgets stuff...

raz:  wow, that's a heavy admission on your part

rug:  You should read The Brain That Changes Itself by Norman Doidge, M.D.   You know Brain Plasticity is all the rage.

raz:  Ok, now I can play at this game.  I took the Brain Fitness course by Posit Science, and

rug:  well did it do you any good?

raz:  hey, I'm still here harazzing you, aren't I?  I was coming off a 7 year depression, and I thought I would never get my thoughts back together again,  my brain was like silly putty, so, yeah, the course really helped me out;  you know half way throught the course, I called Posit Science on the 'Contact Us', and asked if I could contribute, cause I was so happy to get my mind back in gear, and bouncing around with thoughts like a super ball, and I still couldn't talk as fast as my brain could think, imagine that, so I suppose I sounded like a loon, they said they would call me back, but they never did, but...

rug:  So you are the old geezer,  and I've never seen you talk so much about anything,

raz:  Well, what did you expect?  Someone who constanly lambastes everyone else must have a lot of experience being lambasted.

rug:  Is that like basting a lamb for supper?  like cooking yourself in your own juices?

raz:  ho, ho!  now we switch places!

rug: hardly, but look at Time magazine, The Secrects of the Teen Brain.  It talks about the brain undergoes two major developmental spurts, one in the womb and the second from childhood through the teen years (adolescent brain), when the brain matures by fits and starts in a sequence that moves from the back of the brain to the frontal cortex.

raz:  so you are you interested in this stuff?  that's the most you've said about one subject in one paragraph in a long time,

rug: naw, I just typed it in almost verbatim from the web clip,

raz: that's plagarism,

rug: naw, I gave them credit in the URL link, footnotes are old school, foo. HA.

raz: hey, I'm uncomfortable when you start sounding like me,

rug:  so, you should get some Prevagen Brain Cell Protection Dietary Supplement Capsules to keep your brain cells healthy, and you should read the stuff about the Teen Brain, about how the pre-adolecent brain can hold only one world-view, but the adolecent brain has twice as many brain cells as the post-adolescent adult brain has, so the adolecent brain can gain and hold many world-views ... until post-adolescence begins and the brain reduces the number of brain cells to the 'normal adult numer of brain cell' by somehow observing which cells have the least used number of neuron connections, so they must not be so useful, blah, blah, ...

raz: so let the Brain Wars begin: I just used Kindle and found this: The Primal Teen: What the New Discoveries about the Teenage Brain Tell Us about Our Kids, by Barbara Strauch who previously covered science and medical issues in Boston and Houston and directed Pulitzer Prize-winning journalism at Newsday,

rug: oh, come now, how historic is that book, you should see her new book, The Secret Life of the Grown-up Brain: The Surprising Talents of the Middle-Aged Mind, which I found on my Kindle.

helicopters

raz: so what I really wanted to do was to see previews of Cowboys & Aliens (due  29 July 2011 in USA),

but what I got was Harrison Ford flies a Bell 407 helicopter, which he flies as part of Wyoming's Teton County Search and Rescue Volunteers and in Haiti to clear goats and chickens from the runway so he can deliver doctors and supplies to Hinche, and ...

rug: Wait, what are you talking about. You agreed that we would start a nice conservative blog about stuff we were interested in...

raz: Oh, sure, that's what I said so I could get you off your ... and get busy making the blog, cause you are the 'brain' and I am...

rug: the brawn...

raz: No, the action figure, which makes you the couch potatoe...

rug: that's potato...

raz: no, it's potawto, ...

rug: ok, skip it.  At any rate, we have what you wanted: a blog, with content, some of which you wanted, and some not, ...

raz: ...hmmm, did you  know that a Bell 407 helicopter goes for $2,000,000,...

rug: $1,933,828 for a 1997 version,

raz: so now we're pinching pennys??

rug: well, why not,

raz: and $2,900,000 version 2008 590 total hours, seats 7,

rug: wait, what are you looking at? a blackberry,

raz: who wants to know,

rug: well, I find all my info on my new HTC ThunderBolt,

raz: name dropper,

rug: ok, let me use my droid, then

raz: you have two smartphones?

rug: actually, I have a Droid Bionic Dual-core OMAP chip prototype, which I'm happy to say works very nice, thank you...

raz: who do you know that you can get...

rug: back to your point: Harrison Ford also has a green citation jet, apparently, transatlantic, and a 1929 open-cockpit plane,

raz: yeah, the only place to get any privacy is to fly your own hot-shot plane across the Atlantic. Kind of reminds you of Hans Solo and the Millennium Falcon,

rug: It reminds me of a large carbon footprint,

raz: ha, I don't get it, a carbon atom is very tiny, so if it has feet, then the footprints, must be...

rug: ahhh! you are so ...

raz: creative, I know; and thanks for the complements. I always take them whenever implied cause I may not get any otherwise!

rug: oh, see you later.

raz: not if I see yo... 502 Service Temporarily Overloaded
